Stay pinned to the coast, never being more than a few miles from the Baltic. Mostly flat, and riding West to East, we set ourselves up to have a tailwind the entire way.

Starting at the German border in Świnoujście and finishing in the storied shipyard city of Gdańsk. We’ll navigate the secret 'Underground City' bunkers, the ancient royal seat of the Ducal Castle in Darłowo, and the massive shifting dunes of Słowiński National Park before a final run down the 22-mile Hel Peninsula.

With historic sites, cafes, spas, and dips in the Baltic Sea sprinkled in whenever you want, this is—in my professional opinion—the ultimate summer vacation for any cyclist. Each day is filled with beautiful coastal scenery, fresh air, and plenty of nooks and crannies to explore.

Typical arrival is a two-day trip getting you to Świnoujście in the evening. You will refer to your individual booking page for your specific pickup times, and hotel check-in details.

After a relaxed breakfast, we’ll get our bikes ready for the week, making all the final adjustments for a comfortable ride. With the bikes dialed, we start with a deep dive into the region’s hidden layers at the 'Underground City'. This vast subterranean complex was a well-guarded secret for decades, serving first as a Nazi bunker and later as a high-stakes Cold War command center. To wrap up the day, we’ll head to the beach or walk the streets of Świnoujście, ending the day in a local pub to carbo-load for the ride ahead.

Świnoujście — Niechorze

Our first full day in the saddle takes us into the heart of Wolin National Park. This is where the expedition truly begins—shifting from paved city paths to lush coastal forests and the raw, unpolished energy of the Baltic coast.

  • Visit the Bison Show Reserve to see these ancient, massive giants in a protected coastal habitat.

  • Look out for the abandoned WWII artillery batteries and bunkers scattered along the cliffs, once part of the region's heavy coastal defense.

  • Hunt for the "Kikut" lighthouse; it’s tucked deep in the forest on a high dune and is often missed by travelers.

Niechorze — Kołobrzeg
≈ 25 MI | 225' ▲   225' ▼

This is a shorter, relaxed riding day designed to give you maximum time to explore the ancient Hanseatic port of Kołobrzeg. After a quick morning ride, the afternoon is yours.

  • Climb the historic lighthouse for a panoramic view of the horizon.

  • Explore the "Historical Goldmine" of the old town, including the massive Gothic-style Basilica of the Assumption.

  • Lean into the spa culture—this city is Poland's wellness capital, so find a local spot to soak your legs in mineral-rich brine before tomorrow's miles.

Kołobrzeg — Dąbki
≈ 45 MI | 450' ▲   450' ▼

Continuing east, a pleasant day of riding awaits. A planned beach, we ride to Mielno for a dip and sip before finishing in the tranquil village of Dąbki.

  • Stop in Mielno for a mid-morning coffee and to watch the coastal energy of one of Poland's favorite seaside resorts.

  • Experience the unique coastal trails that narrow between the lake and the sea, offering water views on both sides.

  • Once in Dąbki, take a short sunset walk to Lake Bukowo to watch the local windsurfers or catch the golden hour over the water.

Dąbki — Rowy
≈ 50 MI | 750' ▲   750' ▼

Our biggest day in the saddle takes us through the royal city of Darłowo and into the heart of Pomeranian history. This is a quicker-paced, biking-focused day where we can lean into the pedals and get a bit of a workout in.

  • Visit the only Gothic coastal castle in Poland, once the home of King Eric of Pomerania.

  • Take a mid-ride break in Ustka for a fresh fish lunch straight from the local Baltic fleet.

Rowy — Łeba
≈ 35 MI | 575' ▲   575' ▼

Prepare for the "Polish Sahara" as we enter Słowiński National Park. This is a more technical day where the path disappears into coastal forest tracks and sandy trails, rewarding your effort with views of massive shifting dunes that look like a desert, right next to the sea.

  • Navigate pine-scented gravel and dirt tracks through a protected biosphere.

  • Visit the Kluki Open-Air Museum to see the unique half-timbered architecture of the Slovincians, a cultural soul of the region.

  • Experience the Łącka Dune, a 30-meter high mountain of sand.

Łeba — Jastrzębia Góra
≈ 40 MI | 600' ▲   525' ▼

Trading dunes for elevated coastline, we continue our eastward flow. We roll toward the northernmost tip of Poland where the terrain shifts to cliffs

  • Visit the Stilo Lighthouse, a unique steel-framed structure standing guard over the pine-choked dunes.

  • Stand at the "Star of the North" (Gwiazda Północy) for a photo at the country’s northernmost point.

  • Explore a ravine that cuts through the coastal cliffs near Jastrzębia Góra—legend says King Sigismund III Vasa landed here after a shipwreck.

Jastrzębia Góra — Hel
≈ 30 MI | 275' ▲   350' ▼

Our final riding day is a victory dash toward the "End of Poland". We hit the stunning Hel Peninsula bike path, a 22-mile path that cuts through pine forests with the open Baltic Sea on one side and the calm Puck Bay on the other.

  • Pass through traditional Kashubian villages like Jurata and Jastarnia, famous for their local charm and maritime heritage.

  • Explore the massive WWII bunkers and heavy artillery emplacements of the Museum of Coastal Defence at the very tip of the peninsula.

Hel — Gdańsk
≈ 10 MI | 0' ▲   0' ▼

We trade our bikes for a passenger ferry, crossing the bay to land directly in the heart of historic Gdańsk by the afternoon. This gives you the rest of the day to explore the cobblestone streets and vibrant culture of the Old Town at your own pace before your departure tomorrow.

  • Get a unique perspective of the Westerplatte monument and the historic shipyards from the water.

  • Wander the historic Długi Targ (Long Market), famous for its colorful narrow houses and centuries of maritime trading history.
