The entire journey stays pinned to the coast never being more than a few miles from the water. It is mostly flat, and by riding West to East, we set ourselves up to have a tailwind the entire way.
With historic sites, cafes, spas, and dips in the Baltic Sea sprinkled in whenever you want, this is—in my professional opinion—the ultimate summer vacation for a cyclist. Each day is filled with beautiful coastal scenery, fresh air, and plenty of nooks and crannies to explore.
Starting at the German border in Świnoujście and finishing in the storied shipyard city of Gdańsk. We’ll navigate the secret 'Underground City' bunkers, the ancient royal seat of the Ducal Castle in Darłowo, and the massive shifting dunes of Słowiński National Park before a final run down the 22-mile Hel Peninsula.
DAY one
After a relaxed breakfast, we’ll get our bikes ready for the week, making all the final adjustments for a comfortable ride. With the bikes dialed, we start with a deep dive into the region’s hidden layers at the 'Underground City'. This vast subterranean complex was a well-guarded secret for decades, serving first as a Nazi bunker and later as a high-stakes Cold War command center. To wrap up the day, we’ll head to the beach or walk the streets of Świnoujście, ending the day in a local pub to carbo-load for the ride ahead.
DAY two
Our first full day in the saddle! We leave Świnoujście and head into the wild forests of Wolin National Park. Our first big highlight is the Bison Show Reserve, a must-see for my animal lovers out there. From there, the day is full of choices: we can hunt for hidden seaside bunkers, visit the remote Kikut Lighthouse, explore the haunting, vine-covered Ruins of the Dreżewo Palace. We’ll end our day in Niechorze, right under the gaze of its iconic lighthouse.
DAY THREE
This is a shorter, relaxed riding day designed to give you maximum time to explore the ancient Hanseatic port of Kołobrzeg. After a morning ride along the sea-wall, the afternoon is yours.
Climb the historic lighthouse for a panoramic view of the horizon.
Explore the "Historical Goldmine" of the old town, including the massive Gothic-style Basilica of the Assumption.
Lean into the spa culture—this city is Poland's wellness capital, so find a local spot to soak your legs in mineral-rich brine before tomorrow's miles.
DAY FOUR
I would say a relaxed pace on the R10 path with the Baltic breeze at your back and constant opportunities for seaside coffee stops. The highlight is the unique terrain between Mielno and Dąbki, where you’ll ride on a thin ribbon of land sandwiched between the salt of the Baltic Sea and the freshwater of Lake Jamno. We finish in Dąbki, a tranquil health-resort village known for its therapeutic microclimate and quiet, pine-fringed beaches.
DAY FIVE
Day 5: Darłowo → Rowy
Theme: Ports, Legends, & "Checkered House Land"
"Must-See" Highlights: Darłówko Lighthouse, Ustka Port.
After a morning exploring Ducal Castle, our ride begins! We'll see the Darłówko lighthouse and ride through the historic, half-timbered "checkered house" villages of the region. The day’s flexible highlight is a, leisurely stop in the bustling and beautiful port of Ustka, a local favorite for its vibrant promenade and pier. We'll end in the quiet village of Rowy, our gateway to the national park.
Day 6: Rowy → Łeba
Theme: Shifting Sands & Lost Villages
"Must-See" Highlights: Słowiński National Park, Kluki Open-Air Museum.
Prepare for a landscape like no other. Today is all about Słowiński National Park. The must-see highlights are the famous "shifting sand dunes"—a true desert by the sea—and the Kluki Open-Air Museum, a preserved village of the Slovincians, a lost people of the bogs. This day is full of incredible nature, and we'll take our time to soak it all in, with many options for scenic detours and forest trails.
Day 8: Jastrzębia Gór→ Hel
Theme: The Fortress Peninsula
"Must-See" Highlights: Museum of Coastal Defence.
Our grand finale! We ride to the "end of Poland." The main event is the ride itself: the stunning Hel Peninsula bike path, a 22 mile forest trail with the sea on both sides. Along the way, we'll have our choice of stopping at historic fishing villages like Jastarnia and Jurata. Our ride ends at the tip, where we'll explore the massive WWII bunkers of the Museum of Coastal Defence. It's an epic end to our cycling journey.
Day 9: A Scenic Ferry to Gdańsk
Theme: A Scenic Cruise & Historic Finale
"Must-See" Highlights: Ferry across the Bay of Puck, Gdańsk (Old Town, Neptune's Fountain).
Our adventure isn't over yet. After a final breakfast on the peninsula, we'll board the passenger ferry for a beautiful and relaxing cruise across the bay, landing in the heart of Gdańsk. This city is a stunningly restored masterpiece with a history that changed the world. Once we dock, our job is to take care of your bike, getting it professionally packed for your flight home or for its shipment. Your job is to explore. We'll check into our final hotel, and the rest of the day is yours to wander the cobblestone streets of the Old Town.
